I was born and raised here in W.N.C. and I have had a passion for deer hunting like no other since my dad took me for the first time to Pisgah National Forest, I didn’t kill nothing until later that year but it was such a life changing experience that has been with me ever since , and i hope to pass it down to my boys someday. I fell in love hunting these deep woods and hollers a long time ago but I have been fortunate to hunt several other states in my short life also but I have come to conclusion it dosen't matter where I’m at as long as I’m hunting. It is more than a hobby for me it is a way of life and it even is a way to put food on the table for which me and my family all eat venison at least 2 to 3 times a week.

I have always been passionate about hunting. However, I didn’t pick up bow hunting until I was 16, when I received my first bow as a birthday present from my parents. During that fall I shot my first doe and from that day I have been hooked. Since then I rarely pick up any gun as I prefer the challenge of a bow. I love the challenge so much that I usually bow hunt during the Minnesota firearms season since it usually falls during the peak of the rut. It was in fact during the Minnesota firearms season when I shot my first archery buck. I hunt primarily in the bluff country of west-central Wisconsin and southeast Minnesota. Most of my hunting knowledge has been self-taught, and during the first few years I learned a great deal both about the deer I was hunting and the habitat in which I hunted them. As a result of the knowledge gained my success has greatly improved. I am still waiting on my first P&Y despite several encounters. Hopefully 2008 will be the year. I look forward to sharing my 2008-hunting season with you.
My passion of bow hunting led me to the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point where I graduated in 2007 with a degree in Natural Resource
Management. Currently I am working as an archery tech at Scheels in
Eau Claire Wisconsin.
In the “off” season I enjoy springtime turkey hunting, musky fishing the lakes of northern Wisconsin and a little golf now and then.

Thanks, Scott

Mike Oberle

My name is Mike Oberle, I live in the heart of farm country in central Wisconsin. The 2008 season will be my 23rd year chasing Whitetails. In addition to Whitetails, I also chase bear with some success. I currently hold the largest bear taken in Clark County, with Archery Equipment. The scull scored 20 P&Y points and the bear weighed nearly 400lbs. Most of the land I hunt is public land, There is 133 thousand acres not more than 10 minutes from my home. My 2 best bucks have come from the county land, one scored 155" and the other scored 146". People say there are no good ones in the county, but I disagree. When I'm not hunting deer or bear, really enjoy watching my 11 year old son play sports such as football, baseball and basketball.

Always keep one foot in the outdoors and good luck chasing whatever you chase.

Mike "OB1" Oberle

To be honest I am obsessed with whitetails. I live for the moment when the unpredictable buck makes a move in my favor. the anticipation of a successful hunt is sometimes too much to handle. Any sportsman reading this knows that feeling. the best of luck on your next spine chilling hunt.
